Trackballs are very nice, but I wore out 3 Wizard trackers in 3
years. They lasted about one month longer than the guarantee (as
do car batteries). The plastic ball was "lapping" the brass
rollers, which developed ridges and got thinner. So eventually the
ball would bottom onto the case.
The only tracker I didn't wear out was a large one by Marconi with
a ball the size of a billiards ball. I stil have it somewhere, but
I've reverted to a 2 button Amiga mouse.
I'm reminded of a writer to Amiga Format who complained about his
Amiga mouse: "It's tail is to long and it doesn't squeak."
