I don't care whether it makes the machine unstable or not, that's up to
the user to determine on their setup. If it crashes, they can simply
replace the original version. What I'm concerned about is the likelihood
that it will do damage that isn't obvious.

Programs like Birdie, VisualPrefs and MCP also patch core functions, far
more core than MUI. They may work or they may not, but I'm happy to
include them on the CD because I don't believe they'll do anything
malicious.

I tend to agree, which is why I didn't bother with it myself. If there
had been any great benefit, Stuntz would have compiled for 020+ long
ago. But that's not the point.
