Subject:Re: Crashes on Net Connection

Hi,

I've had this problem too. According to a Guru program I have, error
0100000C means 'Memory Insane'! Not a lot of help really, is it?

Everything worked fine for several months after I first set up my
Internet connection then one day the guru just appeared out of
nowhere. I had it first on my main connection which at the time was an
ISP called SniffOut. It happened every time the modem established a
connection and also when I loaded or closed an Internet program. I
tried rebooting but it still happened. I thought it must be a problem
with my Cache partition so I quick-formatted that partition and
rebooted. But when I dialed up again I was plagued with the guru once
more. I am using Netconnect3 and all of the programs in that suite
read configuration files when loading and save out to those files when
you close the programs down, so I assumed that one or more the files
must have been corrupt. To fix this I looked around my Envarc
directory and deleted all of the configuration files for my Internet
software and then rebooted once more. This appeared to fix the problem
for that particular connection. It also happens with one other
connection I use. This is for my Amiga usergroup's website and the ISP
is Abelgratis. The procedures described above did not stop the guru
happening with this connection and it still happens every time I use
it. Genesis uses one text file to store all of it's connection
information, so why it should guru while reading one part of it but
work fine when reading another part is very wierd!

I can only suggest that you try what I did to solve the problem.

To everyone else:
Is this a widespread problem with Genesis?

Donald
