I'm sure it seems that way to the Morphos team, but remember that Petro
and H&P have also been pushing for a PPC port of AmigaOS for years.

What we have had is several years of Gateway and then Amiga Inc hoping
somebody else would do the hard work of modernising the OS:

Let's build it on top of BeOS
Let's build it on top of QNX
Let's build it on top of Linux
Let's build it on top of Elate

Now somebody has finally realised that AmigaOS doesn't need all that
much alteration, and it is easier to just get on with it.

Gateway couldn't believe that AmigaOS was any use (God knows why they
bought it), and that attitude carried through to the first year of AmigaInc, IMO.
