Hi all,
I have just managed to install Linux and get it up and running.
Unfortunately it didn't give me the automatic option of installing the
packages off the CD. So I can run Linux, but only get a black screen +
prompt.
If I log in and type dselect, the package installation program loads and
gives me 0-6 options. If I choose 0 (choose access method) I end up with an
URL (presumably to download software from)
How do I get it to look on the CD to install the packages from AA19?
(Please be clear about what needs to be typed where)
Running through some of these AA tutorial leads to make a comment, that the
info is quite often missing vital bits or typos that render the whole
tutorial a complete minefield. Don't get me wrong, overall they are an
invaluable source of useful and very interesting stuff, but they aren't
half infuriating when they don't work without loads(weeks and weeks) of
effort. They are thoroughly satisfying when they finally do work though so
keep it up.
Regards
Dave
