I think the best solution is to set to medium details, and then change the
following:
Number of bullet holes: lots! (they do not slow down too much, and it's
always fun to paint pictures with bullets).
Model shadows: on (Shadows render very fast)
Model fullbrites: on (The laser gun looks much better then)
Depending on the amount of memory, set the texture detail to high or low.
Medium doesn't really change a lot..
