no, the AmigaOS SoftCinema under PPC will use 3rd party codecs....read the
docs, you'll see how. You simply download the Linux codecs and it'll use
them, quite nifty, but alas there are no Quicktime ones - dont know what
Apple are playing at :-( (how can it be a world-dominant format if it
aint on half the platforms?)
note: The best DivX player under Linux operates in the same way, you bang
the Windows DLL codecs into /usr/local/win32 and the player will show
them...unfortunately this is x86 only (because of the way it operates) :-|
best way to play Quicktime 4/5 on Amiga is still to run a Mac emulator
