Just support Neil's claims. Indeed the AACDs are readable on:

*My Amigas' - IDE Creative 36x Speed CD-ROM Drive (also under Fusion, Mac
Emulator)
*My PCs - IDE Pioneer 16x40 Slot Loader DVD ;-)
*My PCs - SCSI Yamaha 6x4x16 CD-Writer.
*My Work PC - IDE LG 32x Speed CD-ROM

And the following OS's:

Amiga OS 3.9 BB1
Mac OS 8.1 (Fusion)
Windows 98 SE
Windows NT SP6a
Mac OS 9.1 & X ;-)

Maybe your CD drive is just dodgy mate ?
