Thanks for all your suggestions,
I have stripped the computer down to basics, although not with another cpu
in it, I will also try swapping the Simms. On the power point I did notice
that two of the red positive leads on the mains input to the Zorro board
have overheated to some degree, maybe that is an indicator of a problem. The
beast last booted on Friday night, after a good deal of effort, I have
stripped it down to component parts several times, shouted at it, pleaded
with it, even offered to buy it dinner, but none of it seems to win it
round.
The problem is that it's a Rev 1d4 which is the only motherboard to work
with the Zorro/604e+ combo, believe me, I found that out the hard way, I've
got several Rev2b motherboards if anyone wants one, no charge.
