Hi,
I have finally installed the linux stuff off AA17, 18 and 19.
My installed Linux would not recognise any of the AA CD's, but I managed to
copy the dists over to a CDR which was then recognised.
The packages all seemed to copy over to my Linux partition using "dselect"
but I seem unable to run any of the software.
I know I may be jumping the gun, because this info with hopefully be in an
eagerly awaited AA20, but I would like to proceed further.
I have read that X windows runs by typing "startx" at the prompt. This gives
me the message "no such command". Does it sound as though my installation
failed in some way without letting me know?
Any information on how to run X windows, Gnome, Mozilla would be
appreciated.
Also how do I cleanly exit Linux and reboot without getting the "Linux was
not cleanly unmounted" and the subsequent disk scan on reloading Linux.
Regards
Dave
