Subject:Could my SIMMs be the cause of the problems....???

Hiya all...

I'm STILL trying to get to the bottom of my Nightlong/Quake graphics
problems and am now beginning to look more seriously at the hardware side
of things since I have exhausted all possible software configurations I
could try :-/

So far from the people I have talked to no one has had the graphic problems
I get. Interesting not one of them is running a revision 2B motherboard (my
revision) on thier setup (My Setup Apollo060@66Mhz, 48Megs Fast, Mediator,
Voodoo3 3000 (16Megs), PowerFlyer.. etc..)

So I have asked about and most people have said that theey dont think it
will be the A1200 motherboard revision causing my problems so...

Could it possibly be my memory SIMMS??

I currently have 1 32meg EDO simm (60ns iirc) and one 16meg EDO simm (also
60ns iirc - whatever, they ARE both the same speed) They have worked
perfectly fine over the last few years on my 040@25Mhz so this would
surprise me if they were duff..

obviously, I can just remove the simm and try but I would be interested to
know if anyone else has had the strange problems I have had with it.

Ohh.. and as a final thing, using the Apollo 060 librarys Descent refuses to
run, but if I use the Phase5 ones it runs fine!!?!??

Incase you missed it the first (second and third) times have a look at this
grab to see my Nightlong 'exploding' problems:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/s.w.thomas/nightlonggrab.jpg

the multicolour pixels I dont mind - Joshua 'exploding' is what I
desparately want to sure!

if ANYONE has any comments about either the motherboard revision or simm
query Please Please Please Please!!! could they email me off list! :-) I
really want to play Nightlong and have a blast at quake before it locks up!
(usually within 2mins)

Thankyou, getting desparate..(to solve the miggy problems that is!)
