It's a fairly standard algorithm though.

Oh you JEST. IBrowse's dithering is absolutely ABYSMAL.

Well, I'll show you the result..

Both from a 256 colour AGA screen, with scant few pens (although there
were a lot of whites, reds and blues available due to the backdrop :) V
both decoded faster and dithered with less "speckles".
Dithering is a process of substituting colours for others in patterns
to give the impression of a colour you don't have. It is NOT placing
pixels in a fuzzy mess so that if you squint then it MIGHT be that
colour if you wished and wished, or looks like good dithering on a
14" TV screen.
