It does that only because the Microsoft image filters library does GIF, TIFF,
JPEG and BMP without knowing which is which from the application side
You just load it.. and display it. Much like datatypes. But limited. But
also device indepedant because of the way Windows is. But limited :)
(it's no coincidence that these are the image formats Windows Explorer can
show previews of. Watch ANY document format being selected and you can
see Explorer churn trying to see if it can load it.. but only those 4 images,
HTML, and a few Office docs can actually be seen)
