Almost all applications and utilities support the AmigaDOS filename length
limitation of 107 characters. YAM, ImageFX and the ASL requester are
notable exceptions. Some versions would only display the first 31
characters, but it would recognize them nonetheless. I'm pretty sure that
ARP supported long filenames also.

The 31 character limit is strictly a limitation in the FFS and RAM disk
filesystems. It is notable that Workbench 3.9 (and maybe 3.5) support long
filenames in RAM:. Magellan will display long filenames where supported;
aside from the bug that I mentioned earlier.
