Hello Wil

Further, know that Windows XP must contact the Fatherland once every 55
days or so or it will cease to function.

Hadn't heard of this malfeasance. Backwards compatability of HTML would
demand support for temporary and permanent cookies. Perhaps that's why
they are chasing XML.

Perhaps it is because they don't update their software that it trys to
update itself. There are some choices that you can make on installation of
many programs (including Windows itself) that, when approved, will allow
the software to automatically check for updates and sometimes even
automatically update. This may sound neat, but I believe that it is wrong.

Java is one thing. Javascript is a whole other can of worms. Most
non-computer devices don't fully support either "language" to the extent
necessary to execute fancy scripts.

I would guess that as the move to Windows NT went, the move to Windows XP
will also go. Most users will pass on Windows XP and Microsoft will pound
their fists and stamp their feet that the stupid users don't know what's
good for Microsoft.
