to get a decent C programming system, you first need to enter:

Seriously, DICE and GCC have pretty much the same command line arguments,
but I used GCC a few years ago, and it kept crashing my computer. I use
DICE V3, which I find to be a very good compiler.

see above - don't bother, unless you want to play around with UNIX-intended
source code (which I had to do for a university project) - gcc I found to
be UNBELIEVABLY slow.
