Hello Don,

I did. The venue was excellent, easy to access, plenty of cheap
parking, and a good size. There were a lot of goods on offer, and
the games arena and demos were excellent. The User Groups area
was a bit cramped, but then, isn't it always? :)

The refreshment area was very well run, and very welcome - my
thanks to the ladies that kept me topped up with tea and sandwiches
during the day :)

Had the turnout been as expected, it would still have been packed,
but that wouldn't have been so much of a problem as with other venues.

Obviously, the low turnout made it easier for me to inspect all the
goodies on offer, (selfish b*****d! ;) and to find and chat with
people I know, and meet others I didn't.

I really felt sorry for the Kickstart Group, who had obviously put so
much effort into getting the show up and running, to see such
disappointing numbers turn up. I think the combination of a week of
good weather leading up to the Bank Holiday weekend, plus the fact it
was the start of half-term, kept a large number of people away. Even
my long-suffering spouse, used as she is to my Amiga addiction,
queried as to whether I was going!

All I can say is, thanks for a great show to all who had a hand in it,
I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I hope the unfortunate factors leading to
the low turnout won't put you off staging another one in the same
venue, perhaps nearer Christmas?

My only real gripe was with Blittersoft. One small table with a
handful of CDs and one member of staff. Not exactly a major effort,
eh? Considering they were trying to sell IFusion, costing £125, to
actually see it running might have enticed a few buyers. Do they
actually have an Amiga capable of running it, I have to ask?

Oh yes! Where was Payback?? Couldn't buy it from anyone :(
