Thats part of what I'm not sure about. I don't have SKIPROMUPDATES,
but then I am only using the first IDE channel, and I'm using pfs3ds
now.
I think you might be able to use the no split mode (and also use
SKIPROMUPDATES scsi.device) as long as you have a filesystem which can
handle the big partition (i.e. OS3.5 FFS).
