I use 2 devices on each channel with OS 3.5 with no problems, though my
CD-ROM acts up a lot (not being recognized on startup etc.) This is the
drive's fauld as my older one works perfectly. Anyway, I use the
SKIPROMUPDATES=scsi.device SetPatch argument, and that lets me use both hard drives (a 40GB drive which isn't split and an 8GB drive which is) just fine.
Come to think of it, and IDE problems I've had I've traced back to that
CD-ROM drive...
/me toddles off for a new CD-ROM drive
