You might check the block sizes on the partitions. 2k is good for
Workbench (lots of small files) and something a bit bigger for the other
partitions. You can also increase the number of buffers (Addbuffers in
Startup-sequence).
NB you have to reformat the partition if you change the block size.

It should boot fine from a SCSI drive if you set up the WB partition on
the SCSI to be the priority boot drive.

Not really. What you need is RAM on the CPU board.

I got a Cyberstorm Mk II for free recently. People are beginning to
throw out Amiga gear. Keep your eyes open.
I doubt if it's worth spending money on a Cyberstorm now, it would make
more sense to see if Elbox bring out a tower-PCI-PPC kit for the A4000
that runs AmigaOS 4. That will cost more but be much more up to date.
AmigaInc are promising a faster version of FFS for AmigaOS 4.
