Cheers to the both of you :-)

I have added them to the init string now (without the & ) so I guess I will
be able to tell on my next reconnect (unless 2 is the default!) (they do
control the headphone socket volume? right?)

some minutes later... reconnected.. Perfect! Cheers!

The reason I was asking is that I have connected the output from the
headphone socket to the unused PC speaker in the front of my EZTower. The
modem doesnt sound half as 'screachy' as it did before, plus if I dont get
connected I can hear what 'that women' is saying clearly instead of it
being 'crackly' (not that I need to know what she is saying of course!)

I'll have to dig out the Netconnect3 docs for the init string settings and
see if it mentions them at all in there. I Use MiamiDX for my internet
stuff now.

Where can I find a complete guide to the stuff I can shove in the init
string? I'll check Aminet once I get back online but any straight or
reccommended pointers would be greatly appreciated (text files or websites)
