Subject:Screenswapping and burning CD's

Hey peoples...

I am running CGX3 or 4 (I bought 4 and installed it and it didn't work first go so I gave up and restored the backup until I get the time to play around with it properly :) ) and a CV64/3d card.

I *used* to be able to burn CD's with MasterISO (v2.5) and be able to flick between screens (say from WB (OS39), MISO, and IBrowse for example) *without* getting immediate buffer underruns (64MB RAM now, up from 32MB)... But now whenever I try to flick screens, I get buffer underruns and DI get a useless coaster...

Is it something to do with the DMA tooltype/ENV variable in CGX??? I could never remember what setting I had it on (after I played around with them all to try and fix this problem!)

I'm one of the majority of people that don't RTFM and don't write down existing settings before doing silly things with them :)

One of the reasons I wasn't too keen on getting CGX4 working was that it took me three afternoons of playing around with it (even though I followed the installation instructions to the letter - this is one I *did* read the manual :) )

The Amiga was made to multitask, and I miss being able to burn the occasional CD and read my emails at the same time :( It's not Windows, and I don't want it to run like Windows. If I did, I would've installed the burner into the P200 upstairs (I doubt that would cope!)
