Don't write off the SCSI option just yet. When I bought my Epson
GT7000 it came with a PC SCSI card in the box, plus connecting cable -
these things are worth noting when comparing costs!

It performs excellently with my A4000 on a simple Oktagon 2008, and
should I ever get PC I can install the SCSI card and software, and
use it on that as well.

Bear in mind that I scan in at sometimes 600 dpi, and we're talking
more than a few megabytes of data! This is when you appreciate having
the extra speed from a SCSI scanner.

OK, you can tell me to bog off now ;))
