The speed DOES matter ... trust me ;)

Anyway I'm using the SCSI version of the 12x Mirai here, and that works fine
with MakeCD (and BURNproof) ... I'd guess the IDE drive would work equally
well but can't guarantee it! You might also wanna check out the Creative IDE
12x writer at Scan (http://www.todayonly.co.uk) as it's £109 + VAT!
