Subject:MakeCD & Burn-proof tip for increasing speed

Hi All,
An interesting thing I came across today when burning an audio CD. With
a BURN-Proof drive, I was writing DAO from an AIFF image on an IDE hard
drive, also on the A1200 internal IDE connector... But I found that
/dropping/ the priority of the write process (using PriMan from the 3.5 CD)
to about 3 /increased/ the write speed a great deal, I was getting 8.3X
coming to the end of the CD :)))) I assume this has to do with allowing more
time to the DHx tasks, especially since I was writing from the master HD to
the slave writer, and leaves writing more open to slowdown from other
tasks, but I didn't think the A1200 IDE i/f was even up to that!

Anyone else come across this? Is it public knowledge, and I'm just a little
slow? ;)

Regards,
Rob

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
