Subject: | BPPC SCSI settings |
Hi Everybody,
I've got hold of a very nice 2nd hand 9.1 gig SCSI hard disk, and
after finally getting all the cables and adapters I need to plug it
in to my A1200's blizzard card, I found I only got 3 megs/sec
transfer speed.
After much fiddling with the SCSI prefs I got it up to a more
reasonable 8megs/sec transfer rate (10MHZ Synchronous, 8 Transfer
Offset), but still shouldn't it be faster? (more 15-20 megs/sec?)
So, has anybody had faster transfer rates with a BPPC? Everything's
terminated nicely so that isn't the problem, and the drive its self
is good (10,000rpm Seagate Cheeta SCA)
Still, having 90% free CPU time while the hd is going full whack is a
pleasant change from IDE ;)
See ya :)
