No you don't need to fiddle with ENV setting's at all: The Priority
of MakeCD is controled via it's tooltype: click once on MakeCD's
icon, select 'Information' (From Workbench pull-down menu) and you
can set it from there:-

I can't quite remember, but it's either one of the following:-

MAKECD_PRI_WRITE=<number> Priority Writing Speed
MAKECD_PRI_READ=<number) Priority Read Speed

or

MAKECD_WRITE_PRI=<number> Priority Writing Speed
MAKECD_READ_PRI=<number> Priority Read Speed

Use ARTM to confirm the reading / writing priorities when reading/
writing to CDR..
