I had an identical Apollo 1230/40 Turbo board a while ago and it
developed EXACTLY the same problems as yours after a few years use.
Sorry to say that I had to condemn the board to the bin and buy a
replacement, however before you do have you done/tried the following:-
A assume it's in an A1200?
1) Remove Turbo board from mobo and clean the mobo's edge connector
strip with surgical spirit using cotton wool buds.
2) Clean as above the edge connector on the 16meg SIMM
3) When installing the Turbo board, carfully push it all the way home and
then gently ease it off about 1mm.
Please ensure that before you dismantle your miggy that you "earth
yourself" by touching say the kitchen taps in order to discharge any
static electricity in your body. Also remember not to touch with your
hands any of the chips on either the mobo, turbo board or SIMM.
Static electricity can damage chips ;)
4) As your miggy boots without adding the SIMM, have you tried
another SIMM
5) Test the board on another mobo.
Hope this helps, and has anybody else have any ideas?
Kind Regards
