Hi Ray
Thanks for your help, but it doesn't make any difference. Even a
clean install of OS 3.9 to a spare partition (as you mention without
installing on top of 3.1) doesn't
help things.
Tests To Date:
Clean install on top of 3.1. Results *crashes*
Bare OS 3.9 install only. Result: *crashes*
Installation on top of 3.5. Result: *crashes*
All I get are the following random guru messages on booting into 3.9:
Workbench failed: #8000000B
ramlib failed: #8000000B
Plain Crash (white screen) - locks up
C:IPrefs program failed: 80000003
AmiDock - program failed 8000000B
These software failures do not occur all at once, they occur once
(individually) upon booting into 3.9, both when first switching on
and subsequent warm rebooting.
I'm informed early releases of 3.9 had problems, maybe my there
were problems when some of the CD's were mastered ? It doesn't make
any sense: in all instances I performed a clean install, no hacks,
or patches whatsoever not even a CD-ROM driver mounted, and all it
does is fall over with the guru messages I've listed above 8(
