Subject: | O/S 3.9 and Fblit |
Hello all,
I've just got my EZ/PC tower back and all seems well apart from the lack of
memory!
I have an A 1200 with an Apollo 060/66 running O/S 3.9!
I thought I might use FBlit to free up some chip ram! I followed the
instructions and all went well, more chip ram was there as expected. When I
thought I would change the fonts on my machine I went to
Workbench/Prefs/Fonts and got the message 'attempting to load program
fonts'! I've never had this before. I got p*ss*d off after ten minutes of
waiting for it to load and soft rebooted! All seemed well until I tried to
change fonts again! Software failure, reboot, reboot, reboot etc!
Shut down and restart later all was up and running again, edit startup
sequence to delete FBlit, restart and hey.... it all works again, even the
font prefs!
Is there a problem with 3.9 and FBlit? If so, what can I use to save some
chip ram in AGA screen modes?
