There is your problem. CD-RW discs have a much lower reflectivity value than
normal CD's, reflecting only about 15-20% of light (if a normal CD is
considered to reflect all 100%). Therefore, the laser in most CD-ROM drives
(or audio CD players) is simply not strong enough to play back the disc.
