One way is to download Quickeditor for the PC.

It's a demo version, and the windows version is no longer being developed, but I've used it for converting .movs to avi.
You'll just want to be connected to the internet when you begin mucking around with some of its options because, unless you've downloaded the full installation of quicktime, Quickeditor will want to download some necessary bits from Apple.
I haven't tried it with quicktime 5 as of yet, but it's worked fine with quicktime 4 so far for me, which is normally a good sign considering how much hassle I normally have with software :)
