Subject: | SCSI problems -- GONE |
Folks, I found out why my CD burner wasn't working, and I'm embarrassed...
Before I put the Prelude in, I took the CD burner out of its case to dust
out the fan, which was getting quite loud. For some reason it had just hit
me to re-inspect the case.
Turns out that when I put the CD burner back together, the external plug
that connects the unit number, termination, etc. wasn't seated properly; it
was off by a couple of pins!
I put the plug back in PROPERLY, connected the Zip drive to the Cyberstorm,
connected the CD burner to the Zip drive, terminated the CD burner, and it
worked -- until MakeCD froze at the beginning of the burn.
After a few more failed attempts, for some reason I decided to terminate the
Zip drive as well by flipping the termination lever to "ON."
WORKED!
Everything works perfectly, and amazingly my SCSI chain is still not
"correct"!
But Samplitude still won't record from the Prelude. :)
