The cost of the Prometheus board is a little less than the Repulse. I don't
know what a new pc sound card costs but I've seen some decent ones at
computer shows that were farily cheap. So I figure the Prometheus/sound
card bundle would be about $50 (US) more than if I just got the Repulse.
As the Repulse is apparently having trouble and it worries me a bit that
there is no communication, AFAIK, coming from its makers, I thought the
Prometheus a more "sound" approach. After all, if they are not
communicating now, it's unlikely they will be available if there are problems
down the road. But then that raised the question of whether or not I could
use the Prometheus in my system and the answer seems to be no, unless I make
a potentially dangerous (in my hands) alteration to my not easily replaceable
PicassoIV board.
