ISTR there's a config setting in YAM to skip the TCP stack detection.

Try setting eth0 to be the GUI default interface. When you send an
ISONLINE query to MiamiDx with no interface specified, it checks the ppp
interfaces not the ethernet ones, on the basis the ethernet ones are
always connected. The GUI default is always checked first.
When I reviewed YAM I was using it through a routed ethernet connection
(using WinRoute at the time, much nicer than ICS) and had no problems.
This was probably because eth0 is my default interface.
