Thanks for the advice. It is obvious that I am trying to get too much from
this modem. Here are my results...
text file: average of 10.5Kb/s with the '&K1' part of the init string on.
tried it once with MiamiDx's 'data compression' and got 24Kb/s
but only worked once :-(
Lha file: Reached about 5kb/s
I guess that is pretty much the limit of my modem and I wont be able to get
higher rates on a 56K modem.
