Do not use 4.2 if you don't have a Voodoo. This release uses some quickdraw features of the
Permedia to implement additive blending modes. The software doesn't know that the features
are now there and still tries to use the methods it used with the old driver, emulating or bypassing
the missing blending modes. Heretic 2 can't display the fires correctly in the available version for
the same reason. There is an update for H2(not released yet though) but I don't think wipeout
will even be updated... Wipeout could get 30 fps with Warp3d 4 using vertex arrays and the Voodoo
driver, but on my machine, it just gets 15fps and those UNGLY explosions and smoke effects...
