They are, in that they don't come with manuals. Termination issues are the
same though, and the MK3 is the same too.

They don't /have/ to be, although it makes sense in case you even fit 7
SCSI-[1|2] units on.

If anyone needs a cheap UW HD to provide term power, www.cex.co.uk is your man
for second hand units. www.scan.co.uk have a 2.2GB Fujitsu for £34, but it
doesn't provide term power or even termination and comes with a seperate
terminator.
