You can ensure SetPatch doesn't reboot the machine with the arguments
"NOROMUPDATE NONSD".

If enabling single ended mode means you are terminating the drive, I'm
not surprised you still have problems. In this case your chain has a
terminator in the middle. Try moving the drive to the end of the cable.
