Its the way the game is written. and its Damned annoying!
In fact - its the main reason I only played it for about 2 weeks.
Basically What I ended up doing was having the Saved games directory
open during the game and Every time I saved the game I would then
Make a backup copy of that game in a seperate directory in case I
died so that I could then copy that game back again.
Highly annoying.
If they was to change this then I would be tapping away at the
dungeons again before you could threaten me with a level 10 mage ;-)
