Are you by any chance using JPegs for the backdrop files. I've noticed
corruption when remapping JPegs - but it's fine with ILBMs, though that may be a
problem with DOpus Magellan (I haven't tried a raw WB install - I felt like
gambling when I installed 3.9 - no real probs, luckily).
Using FBlit, the backdrops should be rendered to fast ram, so your chip will
stay intact.
