OK....found yet another anamoly upon reinstalling my Cyberstorm
PPC...the 233mhz version...
Now TurboPrint Graphics Publisher is very unpredictable. For some
reason, with certain images lined up in certain positions, it will
crash somewhere during the "print" process, about 90% of the time
before the printer actually starts printing, 10% after the printer
prints maybe one line. SnoopDOS reveals no problems. "DaLastAlert"
doesn't indicate a specific Guru number.
A few details about what I do when this happens:
- All the things I've been printing out have been JPGs.
- When zooming more than 100% and scrolling, there's a guaranteed
crash.
- I use Graphics Publisher to print CD inserts. One CD tray insert I
had was broken up into three parts: the two spines and the "main" body
[that is, seen through the back of the CD case]. When I tried printing
this particular graphic with the parts lined up perfectly, there's a
crash. I removed the "middle" graphic, leaving only the spines, and it
printed fine. I then put the middle back in and took out the spines and
re-fed the previous paper through the printer to get a complete CD tray
insert; again, worked fine. But not together!
- I tried printing out another set of CD graphics, this time a "V-card"
that consisted of two JPGs. I lined up the JPGs, printed them out and
they came out great. No errors. However, I really needed to get rid of
some space between the two graphics, so I moved the bottom part up
about a tenth of a millimeter or two and saved the resulting project.
Now, when I try to print this out, the program severely crashes and
resets my Amiga.
Again, I have the Cyberstorm PPC/233mhz -- and I was recently told
about a bug that's in some of those boards and that I should run this
"csppcfix" patch that's on Aminet. Well, this patch solved my problem
of random crashing while browsing the web, but it hasn't helped my
Turboprint problems at all; tried both the WarpOS and PowerUp versions
-- together and separately.
Also tried removing Oxyron Patcher...didn't help.
Tried disabling PPC access by renaming all the PPC-related libraries
[ppc.library, powerpc.library, ppcdiss.library, all the "warp"
libraries]. Didn't help.
Any ideas? I'm running on an A4000, OS 3.9, DOpus 5.82, TurboPrint 7
with the latest upgrade....
