Make sure none of your objects bleed onto the pasteboard.
If you add a box that is exactly the same size as your page, and place
it in the dead centre, when you export it, there should be no white
border (just tried it now and there was no border). . . Then drag one
of the corners off the page: export it again and you'll get a border
the same size as the amount of the object on the pasteboard.
It's very fecking annoying, and unlikely to ever see a fix - sadly.
