Subject: Image Processors - advice needed
Hello
I'm hoping that someone can give me some advice on image processing
software.
A family member is self-employed as a colour consultant. Part of her work
entails manipulating colours in images of buildings, rooms etc. For years
she has been using good ol' DPaint, which was more than adequate for years,
and in fact gave her an advantage over competitors who did not have the
benefit of owning an Amiga. Of course things have progressed, and the use of
Photoshop on PC/Mac is widespread among architects, paint companies etc. who
she has to deal with.
Being a loyal Amiga user, she has upgraded her A4000/040 with an Apollo 060
in a Power Tower with Picasso gfx card, huge HD and an A3 sized scanner
with it's own Zorro card (not sure of make). WB3.5 installed is soon to be
replaced with 3.9. Hopefully, an AmigaOne upgrade will follow if/when
available.
The question is: which gfx software would be most suitable for her
requirements?
Images will be sourced from; scans, jpegs, Photoshop files (possibly
layered), and possibly digital camera.
The images will need to have colours altered/replaced, retaining shadows
etc.., and it might be necessary to alter parts of the design of the
building as well.
I feel that she probably still needs a "traditional" type paint package
(24bit) ( perhaps Perfect Paint?), but we really need the advice of anybody
who works in this field or uses these packages.
Any help will be most appreciated, and will help avert a leap into PC land.

There is an architectural CAD program called Cycas available at
http://www.cycas.de
it can import Autocad files and alter them. I used it to get through my
architectural course at uni, very easy to alter stuff, much nicer to use
then microstation for example.
