Hello out there!
I have been lurking this list for some time via the digests
that have been placed in AmiNet. But i'm stumped, so that finally
prodded me to show myself. I am a hobby programmer, though someday
i hope to go pro-am...
Me: full-time husband/father/postal worker, part-time college
student. I am experienced @ ANSI basic & ARexx, dabbled in AmOs
[don't use it any more, though it did cause the prettiest crashes],
Pascal, recently took a course that required VisualBasic [yech!]. I
have a fair understanding of structured programming, etc., but am
still learning graphics.
My problem: i cannot get my gadgets on the screen. Here are
the 1st few lines of source:
; from the book, pages 79 - 81
WBStartup
FindScreen 0
When i try to compile this, it highlights the "findscreen"
line & gives me the following error: "Library not Found : $00FF."
What library is it i need? I looked up the command description in
TFM, no mention of any library is given...
I installed everything from the Ultimate Blitz CD, & a
smattering of things from AmiNet; mostly NewCommandSet & DefLibMan...
However, i find a lot of duplication amongst the various sub
directories in Blitz2:, which is not helped by the lack of version
strings! Is it possible something is incorrectly
installed/configured?
