I'm not a hardware guru but how many bootable drives do you have? If you
do the old hold both mouse buttons and bring up the devices page how many
hard drives are listed as bootable?
It almost sounds as though two or more are and for whatever reason your
normal system drive isn't being recognised first (priorities wrongly set)
so it is booting off the 2nd parition which doesn't have a startup-sequence
so it just boots into DOS.
If only the PC could do that :-)
