I have seen this mentioned a lot of times. I do not use GCC,
otherwise I would do something about it myself for the benefit
of beginners. I don't know enough about which archives are
required etc.
Someone could download the archives from geekgadgets and
upload to them to Aminet with a readme (detailing which
archives are to be replaced by the new ones). That way
all the beginners will get the correct archives...
You don't have to be the author to be the uploader, that's
why there are separate fields in Aminet .readme files.
