Well, does it have "Elbox" written on your adaptor anywhere, because
they are the only ones that come with EIDE99 (IMO a real PITA compared
to IDEFix). But like someone else already said, you don't need any
software if you are only using the primary channel.

I don't think that matters, as the cables are just direct wires
normally (i.e. no twists, no wires only going to one connector etc).
I'm sure I was running my system with them the wrong way round for a
while, due to the positions of my HDDs in my tower and it was OK. I
think Mal meant make sure the connector is in the HDD the right way
round, i.e. pin 1 connecting to pin 1.

Are either of the drives 2.5"? IIRC some of them don't like/expect to
be on a cable with another device.
