Subject: | Myst problem |
Hi,
I tried to run Myst yesterday on my A1260 AGA machine and found a
problem - the video clips don't work any more.
My computer has been progessively upgraded from :
OS3.0->OS3.1->OS3.5->OS3.9 . Myst was last run under OS3.5 and worked
fine then.
Most of the game is installed in my Games partition with the remaining
files being read off CD as required.
As an example when I run the game the PXL Computers and ClickBOOM
logos appear, but when the Cyan animation is supposed to appear I get
the music but no video. If I use the method below then the video does
play but this is hardly a workable solution.
I eventually found a way of forcing the videos to work. If I
switch screens back to Workbench and click to make Workbench the
active screen then switch screens back to Myst then the video will
usually appear. If I don't do this then the game will freeze until I
do.
I'm fairly sure that I've heard of this problem before but I can't
remember when or where it was much less what the solution was.
Anyone able to help?
Donald
