When I still had a desktop 1200, the external scandoubler I used DID
generate so much heat that the metal shielding of the Amiga got really
hot after a few hours. So I made a very short connector ( using a piece
of cable, a normal video db23, and a male plug I had kept from an old
external floppy-drive ) just long enough to be folded at right angle. That
way, the scandoubler didn't heat up the Miggy and lay safely under the
other plugs at the back... it worked for years.

It's a bit of a hassle to solder 46 pins, but i've seen that Eyetech sell
a special cable ( supposed to allow fitting an external sd into a tower )
that could do the job.

Just in case it might... etc. etc. ;)
